The PGCB recognized Golden Nugget as a qualified gaming entity in January 2019, moving it closer to receiving a full license. When it became apparent that there would be a few leftover licenses, Golden Nugget quickly threw its hat into the ring, forking over $8 million for the right to offer online slots and table games. Golden Nugget was able to slip into the Pennsylvania market via a caveat that allowed out-of-state gaming entities a crack at any online gambling licenses that weren’t first scooped up by Pennsylvania’s land-based casinos.
